Follow the steps laid out below to configure your new email account
Step 1
In Microsoft Outlook Express select Tools and then Accounts. This will open a window called Internet Accounts. Select the Mail tab from the top menu.
Click on the Add button on the right hand side of this window and select Mail.
Step 2
This will bring you to the Mail Setup Wizard.
The Internet Connection Wizard guides you through the process of setting up your email account. Follow the steps through and be sure to fill in your details correctly as these details will determine how your account is received and viewed by the people you send and receive mail to and from.
Step 3
The first Window requests that you enter your name. What is entered here will be how your recipients see your name in their Inbox.
Step 4
The next step requires you to enter your new email address. It is important that you enter this correctly. Your email address will be what you have requested from FUSIO and usually has the format of myname@mycompany.ie
Step 5
The following step is the single most important part of the setup process. FUSIO will issue you with a POP3 mail account. In order to send and receive mail through your account you must enter valid POP3 server and SMTP server details.
The POP3 server or Incoming Mail Server will always be mail.fusio.net if your account is handled by us.
The SMTP Server or Outgoing Mail Server is determined by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). For example, if your company uses Eircom to connect to the internet, your SMTP Server settings will be mail.eircom.net.
The most common SMTP Server settings are as follows:
Free ISP Details
- Eircom.net - SMTP: mail2.eircom.net
- IOL Free - mail.iolfree.ie
- Indigo GoFree - smtp.indigo.ie
- OceanFree - smtp.oceanfree.net
- Unison - smtp.unison.ie
- elive Free - smtp.elive.ie
Paid ISP Details
- Club Internet - mail2.clubi.ie
- Indigo - smtp.indigo.ie
- DNA Internet - mail.dna.ie
- Eircom Internet - mail1.eircom.net
- IOL - mail.iol.ie
Step 6
There are situations where your ISP will not have provided you with these details due to your connection type. In this case please use mail.fusio.net in your SMTP Server settings and turn the
"Server requires Authentication" button on. The button can be found in the properties of your mail account.
Step 7
This information is needed in order to log into your account. Your account name is your whole email address and your password will have been sent to you by us.
Step 8
Finished! Your new email account is ready for you to use. To receive mail click on the Send and Receive button in Outlook Express.
